Commercial hull

Cover based on London Institute Clauses for wide range of commercial vessels.

This type of policy provides protection for a range of commercial vessels from tugs, and work boats to ferries and container vessels. It is based on London Institute Clauses and includes cover for:

  • Loss or damage to the hull, machinery and equipment whilst afloat, ashore as a result of the perils specified in the policy;
  • 3/4th collision liabilities.
Extensions are available to the policy to include protection for:
  • Legal liability incurred through the use of the vessel for:
    • 1/4th collision liability.
    • Loss of life or bodily injury to other people
    • Removal of wreck
    • Damage to other property such as wharves, buoys, cables etc.;
  • Diversion expenses to land sick or injured crew or passengers;
  • Additional perils (machinery damage);
  • Fine or penalties imposed on the vessel, owner, master or crew and defence costs for any act of neglect or inadvertent breach of statue which the assured has agreed to pay under contract.
