About Vero
Vero’s rich heritage has roots stretching back over 250 years to 1710 and is steeped in the insurance traditions of stability and strength.
Prior to becoming Vero in 2003, Vero was known as Royal & SunAlliance, a business which was an amalgamation of three iconic New Zealand insurers - Royal, Sun and Alliance.
Over the years, the business has grown and diversified through the acquisition of many respected New Zealand insurance names such as Guardian Royal Exchange, Commercial Union, AMP General, Axiom, Mariner and many others.
In 2003, Royal & SunAlliance NZ and Royal & SunAlliance Australia formed parent company Promina Group which was listed on both the Australian and New Zealand stock exchanges. Promina Group was acquired by the Australian based Suncorp Group in 2007, making Vero part of one of the largest financial and insurance operations throughout Australia and New Zealand.
